Reliance Jio, India’s leading telecom operator, has optimized its networks to ensure seamless connectivity for pilgrims embarking on the Chardham Yatra. Over the past year, Jio has extended its 5G coverage to more areas across the country and bolstered its 4G presence. To facilitate uninterrupted communication, the company has substantially augmented the number of 4G and 5G towers along the Chardham route. Pilgrims can now stay connected with their loved ones not only through 4G but also via Jio’s advanced True 5G network, available at all four Dhams and key towns along the yatra route, including Rishikesh, Haridwar, Srinagar, Devprayag, and others.
Employing its premium 700 MHz band, Jio delivers an enhanced coverage experience for its 5G network. Notably, Jio’s 5G network boasts the fastest median download speeds in India, according to Opensignal. This advanced connectivity isn’t limited to major cities in Uttarakhand but extends to smaller towns as well.
The improved connectivity will not only benefit Chardham pilgrims but also enhance the daily lives of local residents. Reliance Jio has already extended its 5G coverage across most of the country and is now focused on deepening its reach further. Additionally, the company’s 5G Fixed-Wireless Access (FWA) services are available in over 5000 towns. While Jio has yet to announce when it will introduce charges for its 5G services, it currently offers them for free to customers who recharge with the Rs 239 plan or above, or the Rs 61 data voucher.
