Tata Play Fiber Introduces a WiFi 6-Ready Broadband Network in India

Tata Play Fiber has joined forces with Nokia to introduce what is being hailed as India’s inaugural WiFi 6-ready broadband network. In light of the growing demand for high-capacity broadband connections in both residential and enterprise sectors, this partnership seeks to fulfill the needs of the market.

Tata Play Fiber and Nokia Partnership

Under this collaborative agreement, Nokia will supply Tata Play Fiber with an array of Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) and WiFi equipment to facilitate the expansion of its broadband network throughout India. Specifically, Nokia will provide Optical Line Terminal (OLT), Optical Network Terminal (ONT) with WiFi 6 capabilities, and WiFi mesh beacons to the Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Enhancing User Experience

The incorporation of WiFi 6 positions Tata Play Fiber to deliver distinctive services and create a premium indoor user experience for its clientele. The deployment introduces an intelligent mesh WiFi 6 solution that ensures high-speed internet connectivity reaches every nook and cranny of customers’ residences.

Moreover, this solution is adept at supporting low-latency applications, such as gaming, and can deliver gigabit speeds to numerous devices on the WiFi network, all while reinforcing network security with adherence to the WPA3 standard.

Mesh Technology and AI/ML Features

The integrated Mesh technology feature guarantees seamless coverage, even within extensive customer premises and areas marked by physical barriers. It is especially well-suited for larger residential properties with multiple floors and small office/home office (SOHO) enterprises.

Furthermore, this solution boasts AI/ML software features capable of identifying traffic patterns, faults, and potential network outages in the GPON network, thus optimizing the overall experience for Tata Play Fiber customers.

This partnership is an extension of previous collaborative endeavors, and the resulting deployment signifies a pioneering WiFi 6-ready network offering for Tata Play Fiber customers, marking a significant milestone in its category.
