Excitel Introduces Cricket World Cup Broadband Plan at Rs 499/month with Disney+ Hotstar Inclusion

Wired internet provider Excitel Monday launched its new broadband plan priced at Rs 499 per month which offers a subscription to Disney+ Hotstar. The offer is available for a limited period, from October 5 to November 19, and offers internet speed of up to 300 Mbps, Excitel said in a statement.

Subscribers will also enjoy full access to the world of Disney Hotstar, the go-to destination for live cricket matches, including the World Cup.

“The World Cup is a moment of pride and excitement, and we wanted to make sure that every cricket enthusiast can enjoy an all-access pass to every innings with high-speed internet. Our new plan guarantees that our subscribers remain seamlessly connected to the pulse of the action. It’s a game-changer for sports lovers, and we are thrilled to introduce this plan,” said Varun Pasricha, COO, Excitel.

Excitel recently unveiled its ‘Cable Cutter Plan’, offering up to 400 Mbps internet, a bundle of 16 premium OTT apps, and access to over 550 live TV channels, priced at Rs 592 for 12 months.

Additionally, Excitel extended its reach to over 35 cities, introducing the ‘Big Screen’ plan, offering 400 Mbps speed and a 32-inch smart TV with 16 app subscriptions, and the ‘Mini Home Theater’ plan. Telecom operators – Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea – too have joined the Cricket World Cup bandwagon by bringing new plans and offerings to increase their customer stickiness.

Vodafone Idea, for instance, has launched new offers, including additional data, instant discounts on long validity recharges, and more, for its mobile users amid the World Cup season. These will be available on the telco’s mobile app, Vi App. Jio has introduced monthly, quarterly and annual prepaid plan bundles with data, unlimited voice, and subscription to Disney+ Hotstar mobile. The ICC world cup is being telecast on Disney Star India with the television broadcast on the Star Sports network, and the digital telecast on the network’s video streaming platform Disney+Hotstar. Jio’s new prepaid plans come with 1.5GB to 2GB per day data allowances depending on the recharge size. Similarly, subscription to Disney+Hotstar ranges from 3 months to a year, depending on the price point of the plan opted for.
