Summary:
Bharti Airtel has strengthened its network infrastructure to ensure seamless 5G connectivity for the India AI Impact Summit 2026 by deploying 55 small cells, 12 additional outdoor sites, and four-way protected fibre routes across Bharat Mandapam. The company has upgraded existing sites, enabled comprehensive fibre coverage, and established dedicated backhaul and surge capacity supported by a war room and round-the-clock experts to manage peak traffic. The summit, expected to host over 2.5 lakh visitors, will feature a large-scale Expo spanning 10 arenas with more than 300 exhibition pavilions and 13 country pavilions, bringing together global technology firms, governments, academia, and international partners.

Bharti Airtel has installed 55 small cells, set up 12 supplementary outdoor sites, and established four-way protected fibre routes to provide seamless telecom services, including fifth-generation (5G) connectivity, for the India AI Impact Summit 2026, beginning Monday (February 16).

In an official statement, an Airtel spokesperson said that all locations have been fully fibre-enabled with four-way protected fibre links and reinforced through the deployment of 55 small cells across the Bharat Mandapam premises, along with 12 extra outdoor sites. Existing network sites have also been upgraded and enhanced to efficiently handle connectivity across event venues, traffic pathways, and entry and exit points.

The spokesperson further noted that Airtel’s team will continuously oversee all roaming connections to ensure visitors experience reliable, uninterrupted service on the Airtel 5G Plus network. According to the statement, extensive site assessments have facilitated comprehensive 5G coverage, dense small cell installations, and dedicated fibre backhaul infrastructure to remove connectivity gaps.

To address high network demand during peak periods, the telecom operator stated that it has established additional surge capacity, supported by a dedicated war room and round-the-clock on-site network specialists.

The summit is anticipated to attract more than 2.5 lakh attendees, including numerous international delegates.

Spanning 10 arenas and covering over 70,000 square metres, the Expo held in conjunction with the summit will assemble global technology companies, startups, academic and research bodies, Union ministries, state governments, and international collaborators.

The Expo will also include 13 country pavilions highlighting global cooperation within the AI ecosystem, featuring participation from Australia, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Estonia, Tajikistan, and Africa.

More than 300 specially curated exhibition pavilions and live demonstrations will be organised under three thematic segments — people, planet, and progress.

“The AI Impact Summit serves as a significant platform for India to present its AI accomplishments and future strategy to the global community, attracting international business and political leaders to New Delhi. Airtel has reinforced its network infrastructure to provide smooth, high-speed connectivity throughout the Summit,” the spokesperson stated.
